A RARE 1IN. BORE PERCUSSION BREECH-LOADING BANK or WALL-GUN, UNSIGNED, serial no. 608,
Belgian manufacture circa 1875, with tapering iron 47in. barrel, small dove-tailed fore-sight (missing bead), flush-fitting rebated breech-block with internal chamber hinging upwards from the front with rear hinge and nipple, an articulated locking lever securing it into battery and folding alongside the left hand side of stock, back action lock modified from a military lock-plate (remnants of a partial French arsenal signature), substantial iron top-tang, walnut butt-stock of oversized military form, moulded and shaped iron action body with integral tapering fore-end and rectangular aperture to the underside possibly for a mount, a further rebated section to the barrel just forwards of the fore-end, also believed for a swivel mount
